Having had some time to test and play with the new wheelie module, I thought it was a great time to share our thoughts, experiences and some help for those of you that would like to adjust and fine tune the module performance.
The wheelie module can be used on other RC bikes other than the CRS 1:4 kit, however we have focused our testing with just the CRS Bike. I have had some good feedback from some of our other customers who have tried the module on 1:5 scale bikes and also had excellent performance and results with it.
It is possible to program the PID values in the settings which control how the module behaves and performs for different driving styles and conditions. The module will operate with 2S and 3S packs, in our testing we noted that for the CRS the module works better on 3S with stock gearing and ESC settings.
Running the module on 2S we found that both adjusting the PID values and also calibrating the module with the front wheel slightly inclined resulted in better performance and longer wheelies.
Once you have installed and calibrated the module for the initial setup it is not necessary to calibrate each time you run the bike, however you do need to keep the bike still for a few seconds when you first turn it on, giving the module time to arm itself. Re calibration is only required if you change the install location or position of the module or we have had a couple of instances where it required a reset (perhaps due to a big crash).
Programing the module is done via the PC software and linking the module to pc via USB. You can find the Wheelie Module software here, http://www.cx3rider.com/support?page=1 Below you will find the pages of the wheelie module software translated for reference.
